A man believed to be in his 20s was shot in the neck at a Target in the Los Angeles area on Monday morning.
Police shot the man after he drew a handgun and pointed it at two people at a store. When he dropped the gun, it discharged. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Earlier Monday, police say two men were stabbed several times in different areas of downtown Los Angeles around 6:45 a.m.
According to a police report obtained by NBC Los Angeles, the stabbing took place at a Target in the 900 block of North Crescent Street, where two men were stabbed in the torso, torso, and hand.
Officers then received a report from a passing motorist who told them of a man armed with a handgun on the street outside. When that man dropped his gun, it was recovered near the curb in an alley, the report said.
The man who was shot later received the bullet in his neck.
Two other people were rushed to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Their conditions have not been released.
Police are in the final stages of investigating the shooting.
